Originally from Ohio, United States, he majored in Theatre and Communication at Heidelberg University. While in university, he studied abroad at Kansai Gaidai University for approximately one year, where he studied Japanese language and Japanese cinema.

With a deep knowledge of Japanese films from the Showa to Heisei eras, he is also skilled in soccer, baseball, and guitar. Since moving to Japan in 2015, he has built a diverse career across stage, film, commercials, narration, and other entertainment fields.
