Tony, a steelpan player from Trinidad and Tobago, grew up immersed in the vibrant sounds of African drums and Yoruba chants. His musical journey began when he won the individual category of the National Steelpan Solo Skill Contest. Since then, Tony has toured the world—performing in Houston, New York, Florida, California, Colombia, Mexico, Korea, Germany, and England—and has captivated audiences with his stunning performances.He has shared the stage with calypso legend Lord Kitchener, steelpan master Len “Boogsie” Sharpe, Marcus Miller, Paul Jackson, and many others. After relocating to Japan with his band, Tony has collaborated with artists such as Naoya Matsuoka, Getao Takahashi, Toku, Soil & “Pimp” Sessions, Def Tech, Shuichi “Ponta” Murakami, CHAR, and more.Tony’s performances are truly one-of-a-kind, blending jazz, Latin, funk, soul, and other diverse musical styles. While honoring the rich tradition of the steelpan, he continuously explores new musical possibilities.
