David studied with renowned musicians such as Charles McPherson, Kamau Kenyata—recognized as the producer for Gregory Porter—and Gilbert Castellanos, a dedicated advocate for local jazz. He earned a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where he graduated under the guidance of Terrilyn Carrington, George Tiger Okoshi, and Hal Crook. After continuing his performance career in New York, David moved to Japan and formed the band “Tribe of D,” releasing their debut leader album, Tribe of D, on Apollo Sounds. In Japan, he has shared the stage with celebrated artists including David Foster featuring Brian McKnight at Blue Note Tokyo, and has appeared on the ASKA world tour alongside performances with Lewis Cole, Miho Hasama, Junko Onishi, Chris Hart, MISIA, and others. His beautiful tone and precise improvisation have earned him a reputation for a uniquely captivating sound.
