Born in Portland, Oregon, USA, he is a professional narrator, voice actor, and actor with extensive international experience. Before relocating to Japan, he worked for four years as an exhibition designer at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., while also editing books for visually impaired and disabled audiences and narrating audiobooks in the United States.

After moving to Japan over 14 years ago, he established himself as one of Tokyo’s leading English-speaking voice artists and narrators. He is currently a regular narrator for NHK Radio programs including “Basic English 1,” “Practical Business English,” and “Radio Eikaiwa,” providing skit narration and character performances. He has also appeared on NHK WORLD programs as an on-camera reporter.

In addition, he voiced multiple characters in the NHK educational series “Little Charo 2” and has long been involved as a regular narrator for English-learning magazines and the well-known “Speed Learning” series.

Known for his versatility in character voice work, he was cast as the lead character “RD” in the Cartoon Network US animated series “Zoids Fuzors.” He has also voiced characters in numerous video game titles for PlayStation and Nintendo DS.

With extensive experience in television and radio commercials, corporate videos, documentaries, educational programs, and animation, he is recognized for his natural and sophisticated English delivery, ranging from calm and authoritative narration to dynamic and expressive character performances.
